Woods and wood: ambiguous words in the unique and wide semantic field of Anglo-Saxon languages. They are matter and moulding substances in our Spanish language. They have scents, they have colours, they bend, they warp, they age, they last.
Wood is a living matter which adopts whimsical shapes and expected shapes; a living matter in which men keep sharpening ancestral skills. Wood is incidental and timeless, it is the volatile essentiality of what is human.

A few years ago, I discovered carving: the art of transforming matter into a useful object or a sculpture that is worth observing.
When I carve, I cannot avoid staying there, in that moment, where the wood becomes part of me and the tools also come together to celebrate the moment. Time then becomes something that no longer matters.
Working slowly to create new forms, all the pieces I create are unique & hand-carved with special attention to details. Carving has become a form of meditation for me, and the way I bond with the wood makes the process feel like a magical act.
I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and am now based in Berlin.
